EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGISTS

Soulbury EP A Scale 3 - 8 (including additional market forces supplement) plus up to 3 SPAs

Established

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert, outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

Thinking of working in the north of England?

Vibrant, diverse and challenging - Bradford will make its mark on you.

In Bradford your skills as an Educational Psychologist will be used to their utmost and you will make a real difference to the lives of children and young people.  Your experience here will shape you and stay with you throughout your career.

Due to demand from schools and other customers, we are currently seeking to appoint three additional Educational Psychologists.  We value, nurture and encourage Educational Psychologists who are committed and flexible in the approaches and paradigms they use to work within our diverse communities.

Bradford has recently been named in phase two of the government’s Opportunity Fund and the EP team is involved in driving forward the research into what works to remove barriers to learning. Research is also being undertaken to evaluate the impact of the Tom Bennett Behaviour Programme and we have taken the lead in delivering school based SEND reviews. These developments allow EPs to break out of the narrow SEN focus and use their skills to their utmost.

Bradford itself is an amazing and beautiful city. Housing in Bradford is the most affordable in England (Lloyds 2018) and it is easily accessible from neighbouring local authorities. It offers great outdoor opportunities in the nearby Dales and surrounding areas and has a great artistic and industrial heritage.  Sunbridge Wells, North Parade with its independent hostelries and the recently approved transformation of the Odeon into a major music venue make Bradford the place to be.

All applicants must be professionally qualified and HCPC registered.

An enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be undertaken for this post.
