It’s an exciting time to be joining our team as one of our Project Managers!  You will be an essential member of the team supporting major programmes of transportation and highway projects which will help transform our district to deliver a more sustainable transport network through an unprecedented investment of over £300m over the next 5 to 10 years.

 

This will be a demanding role in which you will need to demonstrate you possess the necessary skills to co-ordinate and support internal and external technical teams who are involved in delivering a wide range of infrastructure projects including rail station refurbishments, road improvements, sustainable transport programmes together with public space and landscaping improvements.  You will be driven to ensure that timescales for delivery are met and obstacles are effectively managed.  A background in the development and delivery of infrastructure projects is desirable, although not essential, as we are keen to seek candidates who are driven to achieve success in this exciting environment. 

 

Working closely with the Council’s Engineering Design Manager and reporting to the Highways PMO Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that project deliverables are understood by the team and that these can be achieved through the co-ordination of activities and effective resource planning.  You will be responsible for ensuring that all reporting requirements specified by funding bodies are embedded and responded to effectively by the project team, including presenting updates on project performance to the respective Programme Board.

 

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years project management experience with responsibility for achieving outputs and deliverables on assigned projects within a Local Authority or Engineering Consultancy

 

A full driving licence and the ability to drive to sites around the District are essential.
