The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert, outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

Bradford is aiming to be the world’s first ‘City of Research’ by engaging with the local community to become an international centre of discovery and innovation and conducting research which improves wellbeing of communities locally and globally. The ‘Evidence Active Schools’ project is a major part of this, aiming to help every school access best practice in teaching and learning.

This is a new post and as Specialist Senior EP for Research and Development you will have dedicated time to link with Born in Bradford (one of the largest and most exciting health research projects in the UK) and the newly established Centre for Applied Educational Research (CAER), in order to progress this agenda.

The successful candidate will have experience of developing research plans and submitting the research for ethical approval, collating relevant data and conducting the data analysis, writing reports and disseminating findings.

The post also carries a generic caseload and we value, nurture and encourage Educational Psychologists who are committed and flexible in the approaches and paradigms they use, to work within Bradford’s diverse communities.

Bradford has recently been named in phase two of the government’s Opportunity Fund and the EP team is involved in driving forward the research into what works to remove barriers to learning. This development allows EPs to break out of the narrow SEN focus and use their skills to their utmost.

Bradford itself is an amazing and beautiful city. Housing in Bradford is the most affordable in England (Lloyds 2018) and it is easily accessible from neighbouring local authorities. It offers great outdoor opportunities in the nearby Dales and surrounding areas and has a great artistic and industrial heritage.  Sunbridge Wells and North Parade with their independent hostelries and the recently approved transformation of the Odeon into a major music venue make Bradford the place to be.

All applicants must be professionally qualified and HCPC registered and have at least 3 years post qualification experience
