An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bradford Councils Corporate Information Governance team. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hardworking and resilient team player who has an interest in working in an environment shaped by complex legislation and standards. This small team have a high volume workload and are responsible for the coordination of responses to information requests whilst meeting its legislative obligations relating to Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Environmental information.

You will need to be well organised, be able to work to strict deadlines, possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and be a confident and effective communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships across the authority. You will be expected to deal with complex, sensitive and often highly confidential matters on a regular basis.

 

To apply for this post you will need to demonstrate that you:

 

  • Can use a wide range of computer applications, particularly Excel and experience of using a document workflow system;
  • Communicate effectively at all levels and produce concise user friendly written documentation;
  • Work to strict deadlines prioritising and manage a diverse workload;
  • Know and understand how to coordinate, interpret and present complex information from a variety of sources;
  • Have the ability to deliver procedural guidance and advisory both in writing and by telephone.

Whilst you will be required to work from our offices for your initial training, after this you will work both in the office and from home as part of our 'hybrid' working model. The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.
