Project Assistant (AGE)

Grade: H Salary: £24,230 - £28,056 per annum

Based In Leeds City Centre

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority is seeking to appoint a Project Assistant (AGE) from 1 May 2019. This post will have the opportunity to provide project support, focusing on business grants for the LEPs Apprenticeship Grant for Employers (AGE) scheme. The post-holder will support the development, management, processing and monitoring of the AGE programme and undertake a wide range of roles and activities associated to successful implementation and delivery of the AGE programme.

 

The authority is seeking an individual who has previous experience of project work within a project management setting and is able to:

·         Demonstrate a commitment to corporate processes;

·         Take a pro-active approach to participating and delivering the CAs objectives;

·         Work in a team and on own initiative and is a confident and self-motivated individual;

·         Take a positive approach to self-development.

The Combined Authority brings together five districts plus York, the business community via Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership and also takes in the former Passenger Transport Executive (branded Metro) Overall, the Combined Authority covers a population of around 2.5 million people and represents the largest economy outside London.

 

 

The person

 

The successful applicant will have knowledge and experience of public financial programmes and be highly competent in using Microsoft office systems to undertake analysis, assessment and matching of information from complex data sets, updating of online programme monitoring systems utilising our CRM system, preparation of financial information in relation to grant payments.  Excellent communication skills, particularly email and telephone skills, are required in order to liaise directly with businesses and organisations applying for funding.

 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is prepared to work flexibly and as part of a team in a high-profile and demanding environment – often working to tight deadlines. 

 

This post is funded through limited/time bound external funding.
