Salary: £8.22 - £10.49 per hour (Subject to grading criteria)

This post is only open to Bradford Council Employees who are on Established or Fixed Term Contract because the Council has to consider employment opportunities for its workforce.
The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

An opportunity has arisen within Building & Technical Services for a Semi Skilled Construction Operative to work within the Council’s corporate buildings across the Bradford district. You will be part of a team responsible for planned preventative maintenance, ensuring that works to properties of the Authority are carried out to the highest possible standard consistent with the contract specifications and conditions. With due regard being paid to legislation, Council Policies, Statutory Regulations and the Heath and Safety at Work Act.
You will carry out a full range of labouring and Planned Maintenance duties in a wide range of Council properties and establishments to the required standards.
Ideally you will have a minimum of 12 months experience of working in a planned maintenance team carrying out maintenance on various plumbing, and other general compliance works within buildings. Further experience and qualifications of working within a specific trade would be an advantage. You will have a full, clean driving licence, ideally you will be qualified to drive Category C1 vehicles, but it is not essential. You must hold a valid CSCS card.
