The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker L2/ Experienced Social worker to join the Youth Offending Team.  You will need to demonstrate at least a year in employment working as a social worker with young people and will have completed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).  You will play an important role in a multi agency team in providing a social work service to prevent young people offending.  You will contribute to the delivery of a range of interventions and services to young offenders, their families and victims.  This role will involve working both in court and across various community settings with Bradford Youth Offending Team and we will offer training and support to help you develop your practice in the Youth Offending Team.

 

It is expected that you will have experience of working with young people who offend and who are challenging.  You will have excellent report writing skills in preparing reports for the Courts.  You will be an excellent communicator, be enthusiastic and flexible about the service you provide. 

 

You will have experience of Looked After Children and Care regulations and able to undertake related and required assessments.

 

You will have experience of working with young people and able to work with them effectively on 1:1 basis and also in group settings. You will have experience of working with parents/carers enabling an input into the intervention plan.
