EDUCATION LIAISON OFFICER

Band 7: £20,138 - £22,658 pa

2 x 37 hours per week

Temporary until October 2018

Based at Margaret McMillan Tower

 

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate. Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

We are looking for an experienced Officer to join the Education Liaison Team.  You will work proactively with key staff and managers to provide a strategic interface between services, members of the public, other public sector bodies and external agencies, adopting the highest standards of customer care.

 

You will be responsible for key elements

 

You will: 

 

  • Be responsible for the tracking and processing of Freedom of Information requests for departments across Children’s Services, to act in accordance with the Data Protection Act principles and maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • Assist with Education related complaints where necessary, ensuring they follow the corporate process.

  • Organisation and attendance at management meetings as requested including, preparing and distributing agendas, minute taking, typing and distributing minutes.

  • Production of complex, quality documents, which are often confidential including letters, reports, minutes etc.

  • Responsible for the processing of Subject Access requests and Enquiries

  • Co-ordination of responses to MPs, Councillors and stakeholders, liaising with relevant colleagues where appropriate.

  • Design and implement new systems and processes as identified from project and research work.

  • To review existing systems and make recommendations for improvement including organising, maintaining and ensuring continuous development and improvement to the service.
