Band 5/6/7:   £16,491 pa - £22,658 pa  

3 x 37 hours per week

Based at Aldermanbury House, Bradford City Centre


 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.


The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.


 

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic people to train as Pensions Officers with West Yorkshire Pension Fund (WYPF).


WYPF looks after over 104,000 current members of the Local Government and Fire Pension Schemes and pays the pensions of 110,000 pensioners every month.

As a pensions officer you will provide clerical assistance to senior colleagues whilst training to calculate a range of pension benefits and undertake basic payroll work.


You will learn about the different aspects of the various schemes and the legislation which governs them.

You must have excellent customer service skills, with an ability to clearly and patiently explain complicated details to scheme members. You must be able to work under pressure in a busy environment and as part of a team.


As a minimum you will have:

  • 3 GCSE’s Grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications; or
  • Evidence of your numeracy and literacy skills and 1 years recent experience of dealing with the public 
  • Previous payroll or pensions experience would be an advantage, as would working as part of a team
