Outdoor Education Adviser

 

PO2: £30,785 to £33,437 (Temporary up to 31st December 2018)

1 x 37  hours per week

Based at Margaret McMillan Tower, Princes Way, Bradford  BD1 1NN

 

The Department of Children’s Services is looking to recruit an experienced Outdoor Education Adviser who is enthusiastic, competent and flexible.

 

The successful candidate will provide expert advice on risk management in a Learning Outside the Classroom context, specifically on high risk activity which includes adventurous, residential and overseas school visits.  The post holder will ensure that statutory duties are fulfilled and continuously monitored to improve standards of quality and safe practice.

 

You will build positive relationships with schools and develop high quality outdoor education opportunities and ensure schools receive a comprehensive consultancy support and advice service on Outdoor Education.

 

 

To qualify for the post you must have Qualified Teacher Status with 5 years of teaching experience and a minimum of 3 years experience in leading Outdoor Education in a school or local authority setting.

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.  The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.
