This is a fantastic opportunity to join a service that will provide a flexible and innovative service to children and young people who are looked after in the residential provision as well providing support to children, young people and their families on the edge of care and edging towards care, with a view to preventing their admission into care.

 

Additionally we are recruiting specialist roles to integrate within the service. These include:

  • Psychologist
  • Speech and Language Therapist
  • Police Officer

 

There will also be service wide access to a police analyst and an occupational therapist.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be expected to work in the B Positive Pathways Hub, providing a flexible and tailored service to children, young people and their families, and support in the children’s homes if needed.
  • Provide support and care to the children and young people in the residential home, but also support families to prevent placement breakdown.
  • Need to be resourceful, committed and able to adapt their approach depending on the situation and environment.
  • Be able to work in accordance with our model of care in a multi agency setting. 
  • Have a Level 3 Diploma or equivalent (see job profile).
  • Have 2 years experience of working with Looked After Children and young people, preferably including some residential experience.
  • Have the ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required by the needs of the service. You may also be required to undertake sleep in duties.  
  • Have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Have the ability to use electronic systems.
  • Have the ability to nurture and support the children and young people ensuring the environment is clean and their needs are fully met.

 

An enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure & Barring Service will be undertaken for this post.

 

This post will be recruited via the Warner process, which means there will be a safeguarding interview as well as a formal interview and extensive checks.

 

The post holder will need to have a full driving licence and a car available for work unless a disability prevents this.
