37 hours per week

Based at Margaret McMillan Tower, Prince’s Way, Bradford, BD1 1NN

 

The Department of Children’s Services would like to recruit an Apprentice who is enthusiastic, competent and flexible.

 

The main purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the Directors through supporting the PA Team.   This will include undertaking administrative tasks including producing documents and typing, photocopying, supporting meetings, answering the phone, arranging meetings, and other business admin tasks as required.  This is a great opportunity to work alongside the PA team in a busy and dynamic department.

 

The apprentice will follow a programme of training relating to the role and achieve the appropriate skills, competencies and qualifications of the role by the end of the training programme. 

 

We are looking for individuals who are committed to undertaking an Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Business Administration.

 

To qualify for the apprenticeship you must have GCSE Maths and English at Grades A-C or a minimum of Entry Level 3 or above in Maths and English.  (An assessment will take place before the interview stage).

 

Bradford Council will provide you with sufficient time, the working environment, training and the range of job activities within where it is possible for you to complete your full apprenticeship. 

 

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a high level of numeracy, literacy and accuracy across a range of activities.

  • Has previously followed instructions in a careful and structured way to carry out a task
  • Has respected confidential information and not disclosed it inappropriately to others
  • Has previously been able to obtain information by the use of appropriate questions
  • Able to work with internal and external customers face to face and over the telephone by communicating detailed information and providing an effective service to customers
  • Able to use a range of  IT packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work alone on own initiative and within a team to a consistently high standard
  • Ability to adopt a process of continual improvement and suggest ways of working more efficiently and effectively

As this is an Intermediate Apprenticeship opportunity successful applicants at the selection stage will be assessed first on numeracy/literacy skills.  Only successful applicants from the assessment centre process will be interviewed.
