The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying  for customer  facing  posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under Special Knowledge and Experience on the Job Profile, which is shown in this advert, outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (CBMDC) is looking to recruit an experienced individual to deliver intensive assistance and business advice to targeted SME businesses with potential for growth across the Bradford District. 

Applicants should demonstrate significant experience of directly engaging and working with SMEs with growth ambitions; understand the opportunities, challenges and barriers to growth businesses can face. Applicants should be willing to work intensively with clients and relevant partners to develop strategies to unlock growth.

Applicants should be highly skilled at developing and managing relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the local business community, key growth sectors and the economy of the District.

Applicants must have a minimum of three years experience delivering direct business advice to high growth start-ups and established businesses.

The ideal candidate will have a university degree related to business management or equivalent relevant experience.
