Innovation Growth Advisor
Grade J SP1-4 £29,661 - £34,344 per annum pro rata

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority is recruiting an Innovation Growth Advisor to work directly with small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to successfully deliver the Access Innovation business support programme. The postholder will join the existing two Innovation Growth Advisors. The programme supports SMEs with the costs of developing and commercialising new and innovative products and processes. The team is based within the Leeds City Region Growth Service which helps SMEs to find the right support and funding to realise their growth ambitions.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support SME clients throughout the project development and application process. The Innovation Growth Advisor role involves identifying individual business needs, brokering conversations with research organisations, and providing assistance and continuity through the process. The successful candidate will have knowledge of innovation processes and techniques and how SMEs can benefit from working jointly with research organisations. Experience of account managing SMEs in a business support context is required, as is a detailed knowledge of the challenges and opportunities faced by SMEs in the Leeds City Region.
The post is currently funded until the end of March 2019. Secondments arrangements will also be considered.
This post is part-funded by the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
Please note: Whilst it is our policy to recruit at SP1 for all appointments, each role has career salary progression, with incremental increases applicable in most cases on an annual basis.
