There’s a lot going on in Bradford and we want great psychologists to be involved.

We are looking for Trainees entering their 2nd or 3rd year in September 2018, who are attracted by the opportunities and challenges a vibrant multicultural northern city presents and who have a strong desire to live and work in or around the Bradford district.

Bradford Local Authority has a strong tradition of supporting and valuing its educational psychologists. We have a team structure that welcomes and shapes new entrants into the profession. We take on and support Assistant EPs to help them transition onto the professional training course and we have now been given the go ahead to appoint two trainee EPs each year in addition to providing Y1 placements.

As a trainee EP with Bradford you will be able to:

  • Develop a range of skills and experiences to demonstrate you meet the relevant competencies leading to successful completion of the Ed.D doctoral course.
  • Attend University as specified in the BPS guidance.
  • Fulfil the placement requirements of the BPS in relation to the training of Educational Psychologists.
  • Carry out a research project that contributes to the district’s priorities and fulfils the requirements of the doctoral training course.

As a qualified EP in Bradford you will provide a full range of services to schools and other partners. In addition you will have protected time to contribute to the ‘All Bradford’s Children’ or ‘Mental Health in Schools’ agenda. We welcome applications from qualified EPs who are keen to use psychology in its widest sense to improve outcomes for all children.  We also welcome applications from Trainee Educational Psychologists in Y2 or 3 of their training.

Bradford itself is an amazing and beautiful city. It is easily accessible from neighbouring local authorities and offers great outdoor opportunities in the nearby Dales and surrounding areas.
