Director of Public Health
Salary: £94,000 - £98,000 per annum
Bradford Metropolitan District Council is looking for an outstanding leader to join our team as Director of Public Health who will lead, promote, improve and protect the health and wellbeing of people living in our District.

We are looking for an influential and forward thinking Director of Public Health, not only able to shape public health services but create joined up approaches to reduce inequalities and tackle the wider determinants of health.
You will play a major influencing role, working across the Council, with our partners and communities to lead and shape the future direction of our public health services, ensuring that we are focused, efficient and targeted in our approach. We want public health to be a major consideration in our corporate decision making and you will need to advocate for this agenda. You will need a deep understanding of how to make a difference to the lives of our residents and deliver long term systemic health improvements.
You will need to demonstrate a robust understanding of public health principles, Local Government, NHS and partnership working. You will be a system leader, focused on outcomes and able to manage relationships within an ever changing public sector.
The Director of Public Health is a registered public health specialist (ie included in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List or UK Public Health Register (UKPHR); and is a statutory member and main source of public health advice to the Health and Wellbeing Board. S/he has a statutory responsibility to produce an independent annual report on the health of the population, progress on improving health and reducing inequalities and making recommendations
