Travel Systems Manager
Grade L Salary SP1 - 4 £38,443 - £44,512 (Pay Award Pending)
Based In Leeds City Centre
We are looking to appoint a Travel Systems Manager to lead the management of the Authority’s most visible, customer facing technology systems. You will be responsible for the technical delivery of travel solutions, including the YourNextBus Real Time Passenger Information System which covers the whole of Yorkshire – that’s the area covered by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, City of York, North Yorkshire, Hull City, East Yorkshire and beyond. It is the biggest system of its kind in the UK outside London and is a major part of our information offer.
Our travel systems are developed by third party suppliers with whom we work in partnership. The Authority provides direction, first line support and leads the Yorkshire Real-time Partnership of transport operators, systems suppliers and stakeholders to provide journey predictions across the region.
This is a key post within the Authority. We are seeking a driven and articulate individual with experience of managing technically complex systems that thousands of customers depend on.
You will:
- Provide technical direction and achieve ambitious targets.
- Ensure that day to day service and future developments put the needs of our customers first.
- Deliver a supplier / client service to the Transport Services directorate.
- Manage systems acceptance, implementation, testing, user training, maintenance and support.
- Coordinate stakeholders to ensure key projects are delivered in line with appropriate project and programme management methodologies to meet the needs of the business.
- Lead and manage an important supply chain and a small internal team.
