Social Worker L2:  scp 28 – 33:  £24,964 - £29,323 pa

Experienced Social Worker: scp 32 – 38: £28,485 - £33,437 pa

Please note: Your working pattern will be 5 days over 7 including evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required by the needs of the service.

 

 

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

You will be joining an experienced and committed team of Social Workers and  Community Care Officers  working with adults  with learning disabilities. As a team we continuously strive to enable individuals with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.

To achieve this aim we carry out assessments alongside both individuals and their carers in line with The Care Act 2014.  Following assessment we work with individuals and their carers to devise personalised support plans which consider individuals’ personal resources, family support networks, community resources and statutory resources.

Bradford has a large Learning Disability population and in keeping with other Local Authorities finite resources with which to meet eligible needs. We are committed to ensuring that eligible needs are met and supported by creative support planning within budgetary constraints. Safeguarding remains a key priority.

 

You must have:

 

  • Experience in assessing the needs of adults or children, and their parents/carers and developing support plans to meet these needs.
  • A Social Work Degree/ CQSW/DIPSW/ or equivalent qualification and be registered with the Health and Care Professionals’ Council as qualified worker or student.
  • Have a full, valid driving licence and car available for work (unless a disability prevents this).
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
