The SEND family of services is looking to recruit to a brand new position known as the Complex and Vulnerable Casework Officers. These officers will work for the districts most vulnerable children and young people. The role will report directly to the Deputy Manager known as the Complex and Vulnerable Team Manager and form this new team within our service.

These key roles in the SEND Integrated Assessment Team will be responsible for a caseload of children and young people who could be looked after to the local authority, missing in education, not in employment education or training, known to the youth justice service or have significant social care involvement. The team will reach across all localities within our district rather than having a singular area presence.

The right person will have the relevant qualifications and experience of working alongside a multitude of agencies within the Education, Health and Social Care spheres. Candidates must have a relevant Education (including QTS or equivalent), Health or Social Care qualification also. They will also have experience of and understand the law in line with the SEND regulations 2014, Children’s and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Cod of Practice 2015.

As a customer facing service, the right person will need to carry themselves with a parent and child centred focussed. They must ensure that the families within our district are at the heart of what they do.

Above all, we are looking to find the ‘right' person who will become a valued part of our SEND family of services to help us take the next steps in our improvement journey for supporting children, young people and their families.

We offer a supportive peer to peer induction programme and monthly CPD opportunities.
