Fagley Community Engagement Officer

Band SO1/SO2:  £26,999 - £31,371 pa (pro rata for part time posts)
£13.99 - £16.26 per hour

1 x 21 hours

Temporary for 3 years

Based at Harris Street

 

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert, outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

 

Do you have the skills to motivate citizens in Fagley to make positive contributions through developing engagement and involvement opportunities to encourage active and responsible citizenship and strengthen community relations? Can you bring together residents, businesses and public sector and other organisations, working alongside councillors, to problem solve to develop and deliver on an action plan to tackle entrenched issues, to produce positive outcomes that improve residents’ quality of life? 

 

You will be responsible for recruiting and supporting volunteers and ensuring they benefit from on-going training and support, encouraging their involvement in resident-led community organisations, co-ordinating and leading on the delivery of a local partnership made up of a range of stakeholders and working with residents and other partners to submit bids for funding.  

 

We are looking to recruit someone who is able to:

 

  • Motivate people to take action;
  • Understand community engagement principles;
  • Think creatively and problem solve;
  • Lead projects that result in positive outcomes and
  • Lead effective multi-agency and partnership working that creates extra value in service delivery.

 

You should have experience of community engagement, including with groups that are often overlooked, of managing projects and of fundraising and writing bids with a degree level or equivalent qualification and 3 years’ experience, or 4 years’ experience in the absence of qualification requirement.
