The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The Business Unit for Bradford Safeguarding Children Board (BSCB) and Safeguarding Adults Board (BSAB) is a combined Unit which supports both Boards and enables a collaborative approach to safeguarding within Bradford. We are seeking to recruit a Business Support Officer to assist with the administrative and reception service of the Business Unit.  The post holder will work with as part of a flexible and team who fulfill a number of functions in support of delivering the priorities of the BSCB and BSAB.

 

The new Unit reports directly to the Office of Chief Executive, allowing a greater element of independence particularly around scrutiny and challenge. The post is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative thinker to work as part of established and well supported Safeguarding Children Board and Safeguarding Adult Board, which is at the heart of a strong partnership approach to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in the District.

 

This is a varied role and will involve working with managers and sub-groups and will require -  

  •       Organise diary management and appointments, arranging meetings, taking, writing up and circulating
          minutes and agendas where required.
  •       To maintain and co-ordinate records as requested by managers;
  •       To deal with internal and external customers both face to face and over the telephone.
  •       Collate information and communicate to relevant parties in preparation for meetings.
  •       Telephonist responsibility taking and distributing messages, logging and scanning of post.
