The West Yorkshire Combined Authority is seeking to strengthen its Implementation team, which oversees a £1bn+ portfolio of capital programmes and projects. These schemes are either delivered directly by WYCA or through one of our partner organisations (public and private sector).
This is an exciting time for capital investment into transport infrastructure across West Yorkshire and York. The Transport Projects team is responsible for the direct delivery of capital schemes funded from a range of sources including the £1bn+ West Yorkshire Plus Transport Fund (WY+TF), £173.5m package of transport improvements for Leeds, and the Local Transport Plan. The team has in the past overseen the delivery of new rail stations at Kirkstall Forge, Apperley Bridge and Low Moor as well as the award winning Castleford bus station.
This role will oversee the delivery of four potential new stations at Thorpe Park, Millshaw, North Leeds and Elland. In addition the team are responsible for the on-going delivery of rail station car-parking initiatives funded through WY+TF, station gateways and rail station access improvements. We would welcome applications from candidates who have a track record of successful delivery of major rail related schemes and who have a thorough understanding of Network Rail GRIP stage processes, asset protection agreements. A thorough understanding of delivering projects within a PRINCE2 environment is essential as is knowledge of the implementation of a range of forms of contract and the application of the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015. A strong commercial and contract management background will be key to the role.
